In the first stage of the route we will start, as early as possible, from the Conangles refuge in the Aran Valley and we will go all the way up the Besiberri Valley, entering immediately into the Alta Ribagorça region.

During the ascent, we will enjoy the different lakes and the impressive glacial cirque crowned by the well-known ridge of the Besiberris. Through a slightly decomposed chimney we will gain the col d'Abellers from which we will have the Besiberri S already very close.

From the summit, we will descend to Caldes de Boí through the valley of Llubriqueto and the beautiful lakes of Gémena. Overnight in comfort at the Hotel Balneariode Caldes de Boí complex.

Approach to the Cavallers dam from Caldes de Boí by the path, without the need of a cab. It will take us almost an hour.

After a night of comfort in Caldes de Boí, approach to Refugi Ventosa i Calvell passing by Punta Alta de Comalesbienes, adding the easternmost 3000 meters peak of the Boí sector.

‍‍COMFORT OPTION

After a comfortable night in Caldes de Boí, a quieter day approaching the Refugi Ventosa i Calvell by the usual access to the refuge. It runs along the left bank of the Estany de Cavallers and from the pleta of the Riu Malo, the road goes up progressively until you reach the refuge, in a slightly higher location with respect to the Estany Negre, at the foot of the impressive Comalespada and Punta Alta further back.

The third stage is less demanding in terms of distance and elevation gain. We will leave the Refugi Ventosa towards the Estanys de Tumeneia, bordering them to the east and take the path that ascends to the Tumenia pass. The descent to the Refugi de Restanca is done without difficulty from the pass.

Peyta-Besiberri Gap Variant N

From the Ventosa refuge skirt the Tumeneia Lakes to the south and continue towards the Collet des Isards to reach Brecha Peyta. This is a difficult navigation route. You must be very attentive to not miss the milestones.

If we are prepared, experienced and have the right equipment, before Brecha Peyta we can take a temporary detour to reach the Besiberri Nord. For this stage we can hire a mountain guide (check availability and prices with the organization).

From the vicinity of Brecha Peyta, depending on the weather, conditions and skills of the group, you can complete the ascent to Besiberri N (PD+, III obligatory, recommended rappel), and return to the same Brecha Peyta to continue with the stage.

From Refugio Ventosa to Refugio Restanca
‍Distance: 5.20 km. Elevation gain: +415 -606.

This fourth stage is the longest but has a contained slope and runs through better terrain for walking than the previous days. We leave the Refugi Restanca to go up the Val de Rius to the Rius Lake. Here we leave the mythical GR-11 to gain the gentle Coret del Redon where we discover magnificent views over the Redon Lake and the Tuc deth Pòrt de Vielha, with the spectacular backdrop of the Molières or Mulleres, the Aneto and the Maladetas.

After crowning the aforementioned Tuc deth Pòrt de Vielha, we "only" have to descend to the Pòrt de Vielha and reach the town of Vielha. Today we can enjoy a very comfortable accommodation and the atmosphere of the beautiful town of Vielha.

In the penultimate stage of the route we will leave Vielha to Artiga de Lin. The day begins with a vertical kilometer on a well-marked trail to reach Montcorbisson and Tuc de Letassi. We descend by a grassy and less marked trail to Eth Santet. From this wide pass we turn right to the west to continue down the ravine to the Cabana de Gèles from where we take a well-marked trail PR-C 115 to the Cabana de Gaussac (take this path to our left). 

We continue along the PR-C 115 until we enter the forest of firs and beeches, first on flat and slight ascent to finish with a steep descent to La Artiga de Lin at the height of the Hermitage. Here we can take the track and continue along it to the shelter or take the path that leaves the track and make the last climb through the forest cooler until the end of the stage.

Last great effort that requires getting up very early in this last stage of the route that begins with a beautiful ascent in crossing the Tuc de Molières or Mulleres. Starting from the Aranese refuge of Artiga de Lin, on the Atlantic slope, we gain the Còth des Aranesi to climb the last meters of the Molières on the slope of the river Ésera in the Aragonese Ribagorza. 

Once the summit is crowned, we descend the slope of the Noguera Ribagorçana, again in Aranese territory, to the Conangles refuge located in the lush beech forest of the same name and at the entrance of the Besiberri valley.
